Suggester said, "Wonderful colors here and the scene is complex with characters and background, I really like the details not only on the clothes but the bg: the ship, the map and so on. Wonderful one and the expressions are also well done." Commission - Tyra and Marthin getting supplies by Pehesse ( Suggested by Azzedar-san and Featured by Kenny-Winker )

OMG he seems a little more interested in that lovely ladies bububs than the money! :XD:

Lovely little details in this. I LOVE the bottles, especially the two tiny ones on the left. Lovely coloring work, too! :rose:

Thanks a lot :-D Those bottles took quite a bit of time, actually, probably even more than the skin of a character... that's what you get when you're used to one thing, and not the other :-D As for those two small bottles, they were kind of a last addition, to "complete" the area of the map, but I'm not sure what might be in them :-D

Of course, the men are fully dressed, and the woman is standing in her underwear where everyone can see her entire body. You know, no double standard or anything. Of course this was selected for DD, because it's "art," and no other reason. Funny how "art" manifests as "naked women" on this site most of the time.

Indeed the Creator of Tyra is female (and  that's me), and I'm not gonna stop making my characters as I wish too because of that anti-sexist sexy trend :)
If you wanna know my opinion on the matter, cause I'm gonna debate here : classicfantasyrocks.tumblr.com…

*sigh*
Well, please consider that these are not the artist's characters so he has no or little influence on their character design. If the original creators wanted them to wear exactly these clothes, the artist just did his job. Don't get me wrong, I am also entirely sick of seeing images in dA which I would rather classify as soft p*rn instead of what I call "art". However, no delicate parts are boing exposed here. You cannot see her "entire body", as you stated above.

You know why this was chosen as a DD? Because it has everyting that a good picture needs: Perspective, interesting characters and facial expressions, vivid colours, an huge amount of details - all in all, it's the whole atmosphere.

Dear creator of this drawing: You did a marvellous job! Très jolie! :) J'espère que tu va faire plus d'images comme ça. :) La DD est justifiée.

Well, then it simply means I missed the effect. Since you're the first to bring this to my attention, I'd say it depends on the person looking - though errors from my end are absolutely something to consider in every similar case, anyway. If something doesn't work, it's probably because I didn't do it right, no deeper meaning to find... In that case the gaze is meant to be directed at the chest, not behind her (to be honest, I don't see it going behing her even when you mention it, but that's normal, I won't be able to have a "fresh" look at the picture before a few weeks at best). If you see it going any other place, it's my mistake!

I see, I am sure only a minor fix like the change in the position of the eyes will do it, if you bring them slightly more to the middle of the eye I think it will get the effect you are after.

Actually often with DA people don't always point out mistakes, they used to but not a lot these days. So it is probably worth you having another look at your self and see if you can spot what I mean. One of my most recent works I made rather a large error and only one person pointed it out to me. Once they pointed it out to me, it made sense and in this case I actually changed it. I don't always though sometimes it is too much work and I bare the advise in mind for future works.

Over all this is a really good piece, it is just that minor thing I noticed.

Thanks for the feedback :-)

I don't edit images when I consider them done, though, otherwise you enter a spiral of neverending corrections (I fiddled with those eyes long enough anyway, and since I don't see what you mean, the correction isn't going to be any "righter" until I see the problem myself - by the time that happens, I'll have done a lot more images with hopefully natural corrections to this kind of issues). The time is better served keeping the lesson in mind and applying it in future works (as you point out yourself) - the image itself staying as a warning of what you should be wary of :-) No image I do is meant to be perfect and error free, anyway, that'd be simply pretentious.
And don't worry either about dA's commenting mentality - it's not just here, anyway, that this can be seen, and while it's true more criticism in general would be appreciated on sites like these, it's not like I haven't seen and heard my fair share in the years I've been doing that, and there are plenty of other ways to be acutely aware of the general quality of your work. I absolutely don't consider any of my images as "absolute perfection" - it's the result of what I can do at any given time, if it works for the viewers, great, if not, there's always the next one!

I hope you'll be back for the next one then - if not, don't hesitate to check through my gallery and see how it has changed quite a bit already :-)

I agree that is it not always needed to change and imagine when you consider it done. I just thought I would point out what I think the issues is, and then that is up to you how you deal with that. I do agree that it can't corrected if you don't see an issue yourself. I agree no work is perfect and artists will always have room to grow.

However I think that sometimes you need to see were you are going wrong before you can grow as an artist. That is just my two cent any and wand personally I love feedback. Even if I don't change the image they commented on, it is always a learning experience for me. I used to get a lot more critique in general actually, but I think things have changed. I only seem to get critique of friends these days actually.

I have no doubt that you have probably already grown, I know I have come so far too. However I think things can always be better no matter how good you become.

Absolutely ! What I'm saying is : critique is very good - welcome, even :-) Just because you don't act on it on the image something is pointed out doesn't mean you don't consider it for any and all future images - in fact, it's probably better to keep it in mind for the longer term, and not correct the mistake to keep a trace of where you went wrong, rather than correcting thoughtlessly but not understand the problem behind it.

So again : thanks for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind :-) Don't take it personnally if I don't fix this particular image, though - I'd rather keep the problem in mind for my future stuff to make sure it doesn't happen again :-)
